Abstract: The aim of this article is to contribute to knowledge on the postdisaster restoration of education. An analysis is made of the Chinese government's policy to restore education, in the aftermath of the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, using four dimensions of policy decisions and considering the wider context of a twinned-provinces assistance policy.
