Abstract: Eye infections can affect one or both eyes, and occur at any age. While some eye infections are mild and may even resolve without treatment, severe infections may result in permanent visual loss if not treated in a timely manner. Primary care physicians are often the first line of contact for patients presenting with eye infections. This article aims to review the causes, clinical features and management of eye infections commonly encountered in primary care practice.
