Abstract: Iron phthalocyanine (FePc) nanorods were synthesised by a solvothermal method without any surfactant. The as-synthesised materials were monoclinic FePc phase according to X-ray diffraction. The FePc nanorods were applied as gas sensor to detect the ethanol with good sensitivity and selectivity. The results demonstrated that FePc nanorods were excellent candidates for gas sensor to ethanol.
