Abstract: This paper presents various issues on the de-sign and implementation of a pulse-width modulation(PWM) based sliding mode (SM) controlled buck-boost converter operated in continuous conductionmode (CCM). The method of modeling the systemand translation of the SM equations for the PWMimplementation are illustrated. The static and dy-namic performances of the system are tested with anexperimental prototype. Experimental results showthat the proposed control scheme provides good volt-age regulation and is suitable for common DC-DCconversion purposes.
