Abstract: This paper examines the diachronic development of four evidential markers in Korean—namely, tako, tamye, tamyense and tanta—and further examines their extended uses as pragmatic markers. Data for our analysis are based on the Sejong spoken corpus, which consists of 4,204,082 words.
