Abstract: Chromium(VI) reagents containing pyridine derivatives were found to be able to oxidize diastereo-recognizably tertiary α-hydroxy epoxides to form carbonyl compounds. The correlation of structure–selectivity of this reaction was discussed, and the diastereo-recognizability proved to be dependent largely upon the substitution patterns of the pyridine moiety.
