Abstract: Since the first demonstration of acoustic tweezers, various applications have required the simultaneous trapping of not one but many particles in 3-D. Although the multiple-focus acoustic field created by 100MHz phased array transducer has been proposed, the trapping forces along and across the beam propagation direction for spheres with various sizes have not been analysis yet. In this paper, a 50MHz 2-D phased array transducer is used to generate and control the multiple-focus acoustic field. We calculate the axial and lateral radiation force for particles with different diameters at various positions. Meanwhile, the displacement trajectories for particles with different initial position are presented. The results demonstrate that this model has the ability of multiple trapping in 3D.
