Abstract: In this paper the girdle wearing patterns of Hong Kong women were investigated. Data were collected in a questionnaire survey with a sample size of 200. It was found that women started wearing girdles from different ages but primarily when young. Most women wore girdles only occasionally, and they wore girdles to match a few kinds of outwear. The important attributes in girdle selection were also examined in the paper. The reasons for such wearing patterns were explored, and marketing implications were discussed
