Abstract: This paper discusses the threats faced by sourcing enterprises in supply chains. Three areas are selected for discussion including system dynamics perspective of supply chain management, sourcing and information technology. System dynamics approach has been used in other industrial sectors, the first section attempts to show why it may affect sourcing enterprises. Sourcing enterprises are well versed in managing material flow and production. However, this strength alone has now been found to be inadequate. Information technology is meant to facilitate business process, but sourcing enterprises may not be able to gain the same benefits. Conclusion is drawn on the need to identify additional values that can be added to supply chains.
