Abstract: This article tries to describe the impact of globalisation on social work education in Asian countries. A historical review of the import of social work education from the United States of America to Asian countries like India, Japan and China is discussed. The dynamics and challenges in forms of homogeneity versus diversity, universality versus specificity, and independence versus interdependence are mentioned. Their impacts to the future development of social work education in Asian countries are also described and appropriate responses suggested.
