Abstract: This study used the Family Hardiness Index to study the resiliency of families in Hong Kong. Results show that less resilient families are those in the low income group; those with family relationship problems; and those struck by a lot of family problems. Multivariate analysis found that only family income and family relationship problem are significant factors affecting family resiliency. Implications to social service responses are discussed in the light of these findings.
