Abstract: A Wavelet-Galerkin framework is proposed for the modeling of inner acoustic problems. Considering the compactly supported orthogonal property of the wavelet, Daubechies wavelet scaling function is used as basis function to expand the unknown sound pressure under Galerkin framework. The new approach can handle an arbitrary shaped cavity and can be used as an optimal tool for inner acoustic problems. Using a rectangular cavity, the validity and merits of this wavelet approach are demonstrated. Major parameters, such as the support length and the resolution of the wavelet, have been investigated. The new approach shows remarkable potentials in solving mutation acoustics problems.
