Abstract: Reflective practice is also a process of self‐reflection by concerned professionals. In this paper, the writer tries to revisit the process and psychopathology of self‐reflection described by the prominent German psychiatrist, Karl Jaspers (1883–1972). He affirmed that self‐reflection involves self‐observation, self‐revelation and self‐understanding. The implications of Jaspers’ view of reflective professional practice are also discussed.
