Abstract: A seminar organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council reveals some of the determining factors helpful for foreign players in promoting their brand in Mainland China. The simultaneous participation in fashion fairs is one of the steps to make the brand known to buyers and increase the distribution channel. People in China are looking for better design, and for fashionable and stylish fashion products. Entreprenuers should pay attention to register their brand and logos in the Mainland and should ensure the protection of their brand name or logo before entering into the market. World Boutique HK 2006 to be held on January 17-20, 2006, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, is also an ideal platform to promote brands. The small and medium enterprises (SME) in Hong Kong can apply to the SME Export Marketing Fund to support their participation in different activities to promote their brands.
