Abstract: A formulation of finite element methods (FEM) for both two-dimensional (2-D) and axisymmetric magnetic fields - electric circuit cosimulation is presented. A matrix approach is introduced to deduce the formulation. The advantage is that a unified formulation is realised for both 2-D field and axisymmetric field.
