Abstract: In this study, an attempt is made to further examine the dynamics of a passively mode locked fiber soliton laser as the laser gain is increased. Experimentally it is shown that under a resonant soliton energy transfer to the dispersive waves, new soliton pulse can be formed through soliton shaping of dispersive waves in the laser.
