Abstract: This paper presents a study on the structural modeling and analysis of modular falsework systems. The structural model of a two-story door-type modular falsework system is developed based on the observed behavior of full-scale tests. The effects of initial imperfections, connection stiffness, and boundary conditions are investigated. The use of simplified two-dimensional models for analyzing three-dimensional falsework assemblies is examined. The paper discusses the slippage of wooden shores as a possible cause of failure. The study concludes that the use of shoring extensions as the most significant factor that reduces the load-carrying capacity of modular falsework systems.
