Abstract: To enable secure Internet protocol (IP) multicasting, a scaleable and effective re-keying mechanism is required to safeguard the multicasted information. This paper presents a hybrid re-keying mechanism that combines the advantages of the centralized and distributed re-keying methods. Simulation results are presented to evaluate the performance in comparison with other re-keying methods.
