Abstract: Newsstands are found in different parts of subway stations in many cities of the Far East. There are potential fire hazards associated with them. Fire hazard assessment on the newsstands was carried out in this paper. Fire zone models were used to study the thermal hazard. Evacuation software was used to study emergency evacuation under crowded conditions.
