Abstract: New piezoelectric ceramics, (1-x)PbTiO3-x(Bi1/2,Na1/2)(In1/2,Nb 1/2)O3 with x = 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3, were prepared using conventional ceramic processing. A single phase tetragonal perovskite was obtained for x = 0.1 and 0.2. The piezoelectric and dielectric properties were compared, with the optimum properties of d33 = 56pC/N, kt = 36%, kp = 11% for the sample with x = 0.2. The Curie temperature of the sample is about 446 °C. Dielectric loss is less than 5% for temperatures up to 400 °C, which made these ceramics suitable for piezoelectric devices operating at temperatures of 350 °C.
