Abstract: The paper examines the use of three learning methods in the teaching of a strategic management course for a Masters programme in Postgraduate Scheme in Business and Management at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The three methods are an in-company consultancy project; a new business venture simulation; and the case method. The results of a survey of postgraduate students' perceptions show that overall the new business venture simulation provides a more successful learning experience than in-company consultancy project and the case method.
