Abstract: Based on previous works for the parameter design of probabilistic PSSs, the single neuron model is introduced in this paper to further improve the damping performance of probabilistic PSSs. By adding auxiliary self-adjusted gains to PSSs in a multi-machine system, the variation of system operating condition can be tracked, and the PSS performance will be close to the optimum under each considered system condition. The study is carried out in details with a great of testing computation and analysis on a multi-machine testing system. Obtained result is compared with that of the previous fixed-parameter probabilistic PSSs.
