Abstract: To help power engineering students have a better understanding of dynamic behaviors and stability theories of power systems, a comprehensive educational simulation tool for power system stability studies, including static voltage stability analysis, transient stability analysis, small-signal stability analysis, and bifurcation analysis, has been developed. Instability phenomena and effects of system parameters on different stability problems can be easier to be investigated by a friendly graphical user interface and interactive windows provided by the tool. The details of operational structure, modeling capabilities and software implementation of the educational tool are introduced in this paper.
