Abstract: By references to the Hong Kong government records in the period of the Demarcation District Survey (1898 – 1905), this article summarizes the background of the creation of the Old Schedule Lots from both the views of the law professionals, the Land Court, and the survey professionals, the Survey Department. Illumination of the nature and accuracy of the DD Sheets leads to discussion on the current uses of the legal land grant plan of the Old Schedule Lots.
