Abstract: An intelligent facilities management system was developed to integrate manifold building automation equipments and intelligently manage facilities in modern buildings. The system uses the industry foundation classes (IFC) standard, information models, middle wares, web services, and system integrating technologies, to establish a building facilities information model and IFC data exchange interfaces for data sharing and exchanging between the facilities management and phases of building design and construction. A platform was established based on a middle ware to monitor and manage building equipments. The system, combined with the common facilities management, successfully implements the intelligent facilities management with integrating, alternating and dynamic characteristics.
