Abstract: This paper describes a generalized model of the three-phase induction motor and simulation of the direct self-control (DSC) system, using the Matlab Simulink software. The advantage of Simulink modelling is that program compilation is not required. Instead, the mouse and Simulink menu commands are used to link the basic function blocks to yield the complete DSC system simulation model. This paper also shows the techniques to simplify and solve high-order and nonlinear equations in the design of the DSC system. It is also demonstrated that the DSC method is sensitive to the current sensor noise and the controller time delay.
