Abstract: This paper emphasizes the examination of the effects of travel time reliability on departing air passenger ground access mode choices for accessing Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). Stated preference (SP) survey data were collected and used to calibrate an airport ground access mode choice model. The model results indicated that travel time reliability has a significant negative impact on airport ground access mode choice decisions. The model results further showed that departing air passengers traveled for business place a significantly higher value of travel time on airport ground access journeys than those traveled for nonbusiness purposes. The findings of this study provide valuable information to various transport operators for their design and improvement on airport related transportation services.
