Abstract: The dynamic response of a non-uniform continuous Euler-Bernoulli beam is analyzed with Hamilton's principle and the eigenpairs are obtained by the Ritz method. A high-precision integration method is used to calculate the dynamic responses of this beam. Numerical results show that the method is more accurate in the prediction of the vibration responses under the moving loads than the Newmark method.
