Abstract: Active Lamb wave based structural health monitoring technique and its system validation were investigated for the safety and reliability of high speed train. The principle of the active Lamb wave monitoring method was analyzed. For the complex structures and working situations of high speed train, standard PZT sensor was designed, and correlation operation was adopted to obtain the variety of the structural responses before and after damage. On line damage monitoring policy was designed based on PZT sensor array method. An integrated and modularized active Lamb wave SHM system and its software based on standardized general BUS platform technique was proposed. This system can integrate all the necessary devices for the application conveniently for its openness character. With a new type high-speed train test, the technique and its system validation were carried out on the bogie. The experimental results under different conditions shown reliability, stability and the sensitivity to the damage of the monitoring system and related approaches.
