Abstract: A 1D ladder-like silver(I) coordination polymer, {[Ag4(H-Cip)2(Cip)2(NO3)2] · 4H2O}n (1) (H-Cip = ciprofloxacin, Cip = depronated ciprofloxacin) was synthesized and structurally characterized. 1 consists of pseudo-tetra-nuclear silver building blocks constructed via monodentate H-Cip and tetradentate depronated Cip ligands. In the solid state, 1 displays an emission maximum at 410 nm at room temperature, apparently originated from the intraligand excited states.
