Abstract: This paper proposes a novel application layer quality of service (QoS) feedback control scheme for supporting compressed video. In this proposal, a QoS packet is sent by the source after each video frame to transfer QoS information. The source employs a simple additive-increase and explicit-decrease bandwidth algorithm to adjust its rate based on the QoS feedback parameters sent from the destination. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme is able to control the jitter, delay and loss very efficiently
